How often should a three month old sleep?

My three-month-old baby is quite active during the day, and I'm always wondering if she's getting enough rest. My mother-in-law says she needs a lot of sleep. How often should a three-month-old baby sleep in a 24-hour period?

Having dealt with some complications with my own child, I'd strongly recommend not relying on general advice for a 3-month-old's sleep. While they generally sleep a lot, if you have any concerns about patterns, fussiness, or feeding during sleep, please see your pediatrician. It's always best to get expert medical advice for infants.

Hey, don't stress too much about the exact hours! Three-month-olds are basically little sleep machines, haha. They usually need around 14-17 hours in 24 hours, including their naps. But honestly, just follow your baby's cues. If they seem happy and are feeding well, you're doing great, yaar!

I'm not a parent yet, but this is good to know for the future. So, around 14-17 hours is common? Does that mean they can sleep for many hours straight, or do they still wake up a lot to feed?

This question used to keep me up at night when my child was little! I was always checking the clock. For a 3-month-old, they typically need a lot of sleep, around 14-17 hours total, but in short bursts and longer stretches. Don't worry if it's not a perfect schedule; just make sure they're comfortable and feeding well. If you're very anxious, a quick call to your pediatrician can always help.

Hey, it's totally normal to wonder about baby sleep! A 3-month-old will still sleep quite a lot, generally 14-17 hours total in a 24-hour period, including a few naps. They might start having slightly longer stretches at night, but still wake for feeds. Just focus on a calm environment and consistent routine. If you have concerns, always check with the baby's doctor, okay?

There are actually some great apps now that help you track baby sleep! For a 3-month-old, the general guideline is 14-17 hours of sleep in a day. It's often broken up, with several naps and longer sleep at night, though night feeds are still common. Tracking it can help you see patterns and ensure they're getting enough rest for their development.
