Hey, don't stress too much about strict schedules at 6 weeks! They still sleep loads, like 14-17 hours total, but it's scattered throughout the day and night because they wake to feed. Just focus on feeding them whenever they're hungry and getting sleep yourself whenever you can!
They usually sleep a lot, but in short intervals. Always check with your pediatrician for specific concerns.
A 6-week-old is still very young and needs a lot of sleep, around 14-17 hours a day in total. However, it's typically broken into short naps and waking for feeds every 2-4 hours, day and night. Don't expect them to sleep through the night just yet.
At 6 weeks, babies sleep a lot, it's their growth time. Short naps and frequent feeds are normal. I always gave my kids a warm oil massage before bed; it helped them sleep soundly. But if the baby is not feeding or seems unwell, then without delay, take them to the doctor.
A 6-week-old infant typically requires around 14-17 hours of sleep per 24-hour cycle. This sleep is often fragmented, with periods of wakefulness for feeding every 2-4 hours. For precise guidance on your baby's sleep patterns and to address any concerns, it is best to consult your pediatrician.
For a 6-week-old baby, sleep patterns can vary, but generally they need a lot of sleep, broken by feeding. It's important that they are feeding well and gaining weight. If you have any concerns about their sleepiness, or if they are unusually lethargic, please consult your pediatrician immediately.

I'm not a parent yet, but this question makes me wonder. So, a 6-week-old sleeps a lot but not in one go. Does that mean the parents also have to wake up every few hours? That sounds really tiring.
A 6-week-old sleeps whenever they feel like it, which is basically 'often'! 😄 Seriously though, they sleep a lot, but in tiny chunks. It's like having a miniature, super demanding boss who needs food breaks every couple of hours. Enjoy the cuddles!
