How often do you need a tb test?

My new landlord is asking for a recent TB test report before I can move in. I haven't had one in ages. How often are people usually expected to get a TB test?

Hey! So for most people, a TB test isn't something you need to do super often. It's usually if you've been in contact with someone who has TB, or if your job requires it (like if you're a healthcare worker), or if you have symptoms like a persistent cough. So generally, it's not an annual thing unless there's a specific reason. Always best to ask your GP though!

Namaste. Here in our village, we only do a TB test if someone coughs for a long time, or if the doctor thinks there is a problem. It's not something we do every year like a health camp. If you are feeling well, then no need to worry. But if you have any doubt, then see the doctor in the city.

Dude, a TB test? I only got one when I applied for my abroad study visa, that's it. It's not like you need it every year. Unless you're in some kind of medical job or travelling to high-risk places, I don't think it's a common thing. Just chill, if you're fine, you're fine.

As a working professional, I prioritize efficiency with health checks. For a TB test, it's not a routine annual requirement for the general population. It's typically done for specific purposes like pre-employment in certain sectors, visa applications, or if you've had known exposure to an active TB case. Don't add it to your to-do list unless explicitly advised by a medical professional.

At Max Hospital, my doctor explained that a TB test isn't part of a general annual health check-up for most individuals. It's typically recommended if you have specific symptoms, a known exposure to someone with active TB, or for occupational screenings (e.g., healthcare workers), or immigration purposes. Always ask your physician directly if you need one, they will assess your risk.

It's totally understandable to be concerned about testing frequency, especially with something like TB. I used to get so anxious thinking I needed every test out there. But for TB, it's not a yearly thing for everyone. It's usually recommended based on risk factors, like exposure, symptoms, or specific job/travel requirements. Your feelings are valid, but usually, it's not a frequent test.
