How much time should you spend in deep sleep?
Lately, I've been feeling quite tired even after sleeping for 7-8 hours. I read somewhere that deep sleep is very important. So, how much time should one ideally spend in deep sleep to feel truly rested?

This is such an interesting question! Deep sleep is so important.
Haan ji, deep sleep bahut important hai! Na ho to agle din pura mood kharab. Generally, experts bolte hain ki 1.5 se 2 ghante deep sleep hona chahiye every night for an adult. But har kisi ka body different hota hai, so thoda upar neeche chalta hai.
I used to obsess over my deep sleep numbers on my fitness tracker, thinking if it wasn't enough, I'd be unwell. But actually, adults typically need about 1.5 to 2 hours of deep sleep per night. It's not about forcing it, but creating good sleep hygiene. Don't panic if one night is less.
My Apple Watch and Oura ring track sleep stages, and for most adults, you should aim for about 15-25% of your total sleep to be deep sleep. So, if you sleep for 7-8 hours, roughly 1 to 2 hours of deep sleep is a good target. Focus on consistent sleep schedule and comfort, the deep sleep will follow.

I can only share what I've experienced. I try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep in total. My fitness band shows about 1.5 to 2 hours of deep sleep on good nights. I notice a huge difference in my energy and focus the next day when I hit that mark.
