How much sugar should a diabetic eat a day?

I've been recently diagnosed with pre-diabetes and trying to be very careful. My doctor said to cut down on sugar. I want to know exactly how much sugar a diabetic, or someone like me, can eat in a day to stay healthy.

It's a really important question for diabetics. Everyone's body is different, so it's always best to get specific advice from your doctor or a dietician. They can help you figure out what's safe for you.

Beta, when I was younger, we didn't know so much about these things. Now, with diabetes, doctors are very clear. My doctor always says for diabetics, added sugar should be almost nil. It's tough, but for good health, we must listen to the experts.

Namaste! Hamare gaon mein bhi bahut log diabetes se pareshan hain. Sab doctor ke paas jaate hain aur wo kehte hain ki cheeni bahut kam khao, ya bilkul mat khao. Phal kha sakte hain thode, par ganna ras, mithai bilkul nahin. Apne doctor se puchho to sabse accha rahega.

This question used to stress me out so much when I was diagnosed! It feels like you have to be so precise. It's totally okay to feel overwhelmed. Just remember, it's not a one-size-fits-all answer, so getting personal advice is key.

Having managed diabetes for years, I can tell you that the goal is generally to minimize or completely eliminate added sugars. Focus on complex carbs and natural, unsweetened foods. Track your blood sugar and adjust. Most importantly, work closely with your endocrinologist and a dietician for a personalized plan.

For diabetics, tracking your sugar and carb intake is super important. Many apps allow you to log food and see the impact. But the actual target number should come from a doctor or a certified dietician, as it depends on your medication and activity levels. Use technology to support their advice!
