How much sleep should a 4 year old get?

My son is 4 years old and loves his afternoon nap, but some of my friends say kids his age don't need it. I'm a bit confused. What's the ideal sleep duration for a 4-year-old?

I totally get it, trying to figure out kid's sleep can be a puzzle! For a 4-year-old, typically 10-13 hours, including their nap, is recommended. Consistency with bedtime and a relaxing routine helps them a lot.

A 4-year-old needs around 10-13 hours of sleep per day, including their afternoon nap! 😴 That's a lot of growing power! Make sure they have a comfy bed and a nice story before sleeping! 😊

For a 4-year-old, 10-13 hours of sleep is crucial for their overall development. As someone managing diabetes, I know diet is very important. Avoid giving them sugary drinks or heavy meals close to bedtime, as it can disrupt their sleep and lead to health issues later.

Honestly, don't rely too much on random internet advice for your child's health. For a 4-year-old, general guidelines say 10-13 hours. But if you have specific concerns, always verify with your pediatrician. They know your child best.

A 4-year-old needs 10-13 hours? Wow, I remember those days... barely! Now I'm lucky to get 6. If your kid is sleeping that much, you're doing great! Cherish the peace and quiet!
