How much sleep does a 12 year old need?

My daughter is 12 and she's always on her phone, then says she's sleepy for school. I tell her to sleep more, but how much is 'more'? What's the ideal sleep duration for a 12-year-old?

A 12-year-old is almost a teen, so they still need good sleep for energy and growth. Aim for 9-11 hours. Coupled with some outdoor activity and a good diet, they'll be much healthier. No late-night screen time, that's key.

I remember ignoring my own sleep needs when I was younger, and it led to feeling constantly run down. For a 12-year-old, 9-11 hours is absolutely crucial. If your child is struggling to sleep or constantly tired, please don't hesitate to consult their doctor. Early intervention helps a lot.

At 12 years old, children are growing so fast, both physically and mentally. They definitely need plenty of rest. Around 9-11 hours is right. My grandchildren, when they were that age, always needed their full sleep to be energetic and cheerful the next day.

A 12-year-old needs a good 9-11 hours of sleep. I often suggest a warm glass of milk or a short story before bed to help them relax. If a child is consistently having trouble falling asleep or waking up exhausted, it's wise to speak to a doctor, just to be sure there's nothing else going on.

For a 12-year-old, my family always said they need a good night's sleep to grow strong. The doctors also confirm about 9 to 11 hours are very important. Ensure they have a peaceful environment to sleep. Light dinner also helps.

A 12-year-old falls into the pre-teen category and still needs substantial sleep, around 9 to 11 hours per night. This supports their rapid growth, brain development, and helps manage their moods. Limiting screen time before bed is a practical tip that often helps.

For a 12-year-old, 9-11 hours of sleep is crucial for their physical and mental development. Encourage them to be active during the day, maybe a walk or playing outside, as it naturally promotes better sleep. Just make sure the activities are age-appropriate and safe.

I totally get why you're asking this. Tweens are at such a critical age! For a 12-year-old, it's generally recommended they get 9-11 hours of sleep. It's a huge time of change for them, and good sleep helps them cope with school, friends, and all the growing up.
