How much sleep by age?

I often feel tired even after sleeping for what seems like a full night. My wife says I might not be getting enough quality sleep for my age. Is there a general guideline for how much sleep a person needs based on their age?

As a working professional, I know sleep often takes a backseat. Generally, it's 7-9 hours for adults, 8-10 for teens, and more for kids. The key is quality over quantity if you're strapped for time. Power naps help too!

Sleep requirements vary, but if you're consistently feeling tired even after enough sleep, please get your thyroid checked. I found out my fatigue was due to it. Regular check-ups with your doctor are crucial to rule out underlying issues, not just for sleep, but overall health.

For adults, 7-8 hours is usually the minimum. I have high BP, and my doctor always stresses on good sleep along with regular exercise and diet. It's not just about the hours, but also a good routine. Regular checkups can also tell you if your body is getting enough rest or not.

It's so hard when you can't get enough sleep, no matter your age. I remember struggling with it myself. It's okay if your sleep patterns aren't always perfect. Don't be hard on yourself. Just keep trying to create a good sleep environment.

I read that adults need about 7-9 hours, teenagers 8-10, and school-aged children 9-12 hours. A good workout during the day, like a brisk walk or cycling, really helps improve sleep quality, but obviously check with your doc if you have any underlying issues.

Honestly, it depends so much on the person and their activity level. For adults like me, 7-8 hours feels ideal. Kids definitely need more, like 9-12 hours. Best to just listen to your body and see how many hours make you feel refreshed, not groggy.

Broadly, babies need the most, then kids, then teenagers, and adults around 7-9 hours. But this is a range, not a strict number. The best indicator is how you feel when you wake up. Are you refreshed? That's your optimal sleep, usually. Keep your sleep environment dark and quiet.

PCOS really affects sleep for many women, so it's not just about age for some of us. The general guidelines are there, but always consider individual health. For example, adults generally need 7-9 hours. If you have any health conditions, it's good to discuss with your doctor how that impacts your sleep needs.
