How much should a three week old sleep?

My newborn is just three weeks old and it feels like he's always sleeping, but also wakes up for feeds very often. My mother-in-law says it's too much. How much sleep is actually normal for a three-week-old baby?

Haan na, three weeks pe baby is still sleeping quite a lot, almost 16 hours average. But they wake up very frequently for feeds, which is totally normal. Just go with their natural flow and don't worry too much about a strict timetable.

Our pediatrician said 16 to 18 hours is the norm at three weeks. When our baby is sleeping, my wife and I try to eat healthy, balanced meals to keep our energy up. Keeping your diet clean helps a lot in managing the physical fatigue of parenting.

My baby was at three weeks just a month ago, and she was sleeping almost 17 hours a day. I was constantly worried, but now she is slightly more awake. It is a very fresh experience for me, and I can tell you that this heavy sleep is completely normal.

At three weeks, they sleep around 16 to 18 hours, yaar. Actually, my niece used to sleep throughout the day and stay awake at night, which was super tiring. Don't worry, their sleep cycle is still developing at this stage.

At three weeks, babies sleep around 16 hours. Make sure you are also taking care of your health; post-pregnancy thyroid issues are very common and can make you feel extremely tired. Get your regular thyroid tests done while keeping up with the baby's pediatric follow-ups.

I read that three-week-olds should sleep 16 hours, but my baby only sleeps 13 hours and I am constantly worried it will affect his growth. Has anyone else experienced this? I hope we are both just overthinking, but it is so hard not to worry about every little detail.
