Usually, 100 to 200 mcg of selenium daily is recommended for thyroid support. Along with this, if your doctor allows, try to include 30 minutes of daily brisk walking. Physical activity combined with proper nutrition works wonders for thyroid function.

My endocrinologist advised me that 100-200 mcg of selenium daily can help reduce anti-TPO antibodies in thyroiditis patients. However, he warned that exceeding 400 mcg daily can cause selenium toxicity. Always get your blood levels monitored regularly.

A small daily amount of 100 mcg selenium is highly beneficial for thyroid health. To complement this, practicing Ujjayi pranayama daily gently stimulates the thyroid gland. It is a beautiful, natural way to support your body's endocrine system.

I have managed my thyroid for over twenty years now, and I can tell you there is no need to panic. While 100 mcg of selenium is good, a balanced life with less stress is what truly keeps your thyroid stable. Just take your doctor's advice and stay happy.

I was recently diagnosed with minor thyroid issues and read that selenium is very important. Is 100 mcg daily a safe starting amount? I am a bit scared of taking tablets, so can I get enough selenium just from regular vegetarian Indian food?

The recommended dietary allowance is about 55 mcg, but therapeutic doses for thyroid go up to 200 mcg. I use a nutrition tracking app to log my food, and I easily hit my selenium goals by adding mushrooms and chia seeds to my meals.

I can only speak from my personal journey with hypothyroidism. I started taking 100 mcg selenium daily under my doctor's supervision, and I noticed a slight improvement in my hair fall and energy levels after a few weeks.

My teenage daughter was diagnosed with thyroid issues and we were very concerned about her fatigue. The doctor suggested keeping her selenium intake around 100 mcg. We make sure she gets it naturally through healthy home-cooked meals, and she is doing much better now.
