How much selenium per day for thyroid?

I have hypothyroidism and my cousin, who also has it, recommended adding selenium to my diet. I'm looking for supplements, but I don't know the correct amount. How much selenium should I take daily for my thyroid condition?

I was reading some medical blogs today and they said around 100 to 200 micrograms of selenium daily is beneficial for Hashimoto's thyroid. Does anyone here actually take selenium supplements? I want to know if it really helps with the fatigue.

My mom has thyroid issues and her doctor suggested keeping her selenium intake around 100-200 mcg. I help her track it, and she mostly just eats eggs and a few nuts daily instead of taking extra pills. It seems much simpler that way.

Please don't stress about your thyroid health, it is very common and completely treatable. While 100-200 mcg of selenium is the typical recommendation, please avoid buying random supplements online. Let your endocrinologist decide the safe dosage for your body.

I can barely remember to take my regular thyroid medicine in the morning, let alone tracking selenium micrograms! They say 100-200 mcg is good, but I just eat whatever home food is made and hope for the best.

With both PCOS and thyroid issues, I have to be very careful with what I consume. Many studies suggest 100 to 200 mcg of selenium helps with thyroid antibodies, but I never take it without consulting my doctor first to avoid any bad hormonal reactions.

For thyroid care, our ancient ways recommend eating whole, unprocessed foods. Selenium is needed in small amounts, about 100 mcg. Eating a handful of pumpkin seeds or almonds daily is a safe and time-tested way to keep the body healthy.
