How.much rem sleep should i get?

My sleep tracker shows very little REM sleep, and I often feel groggy even after sleeping for 7-8 hours. Is there a recommended amount, like how much REM sleep should I really be getting?

Honestly yaar, this REM sleep thing is confusing. I try to get good sleep but kabhi-kabhi work ki wajah se ho nahi paata. Actually, I think it's more about quality than just quantity, no?

Hey! 😊 Generally, adults need about 20-25% of their total sleep time to be REM sleep. So if you're sleeping 7-8 hours, that's roughly 1.5 to 2 hours of REM! Hope that helps!

I also wonder about this. I've heard REM sleep is very important for memory and learning. Do we naturally get enough if we sleep 7-8 hours, or is there something specific we need to do for it?

My son also has trouble with sleep, and his doctor said for growing kids, REM sleep is crucial for brain development. For adults, usually 90-120 minutes of REM sleep per night is considered good. Try to keep a consistent sleep schedule.

From my experience with yoga and pranayama, deep relaxation before sleep can really help improve sleep cycles, including REM. Focus on your breath for 10-15 minutes before bed. When the mind is calm, the body sleeps better, and all sleep stages benefit.
