How much rem sleep per night?

I'm trying to optimize my sleep for better productivity and health. I know all about sleep stages, but I'm particularly interested in REM. How much REM sleep should one aim for per night to wake up feeling completely restored?

Usually about 1.5 to 2 hours of REM sleep is considered perfectly healthy for most adults.

Haan na, even my doctor told me that 90 to 120 minutes is more than enough. We get so worried looking at these smart watch apps daily. Just sleep peacefully without stressing about these numbers too much.

For a normal 7-8 hour sleep cycle, about 20% should ideally be REM sleep. If you are sleeping less overall, your REM will naturally drop. Try to maintain a consistent sleep schedule and avoid screens an hour before bed.

In our times we didn't count REM and deep sleep, but a healthy adult needs about 2 hours of sound, dreaming sleep. If you find your sleep is disturbed, try drinking a cup of warm milk with a pinch of turmeric before sleeping. It calms the mind naturally.

I used to get very little sleep and my doctor said my dream state sleep was very low. I started washing my feet with cold water and applying a little mustard oil on my soles before bed. It really helped me get deep, restful sleep every night.

You should aim for about 90-120 minutes of REM. If your doctor allows, try adding a brisk 30-minute walk in the evening. Physical tiredness helps the brain transition into deep and REM sleep phases much more smoothly.
