How much protein should a diabetic have?

My friend has diabetes and is very careful about his diet. We were discussing protein, and he asked me how much is considered healthy for a diabetic. What's a good general recommendation for protein intake for diabetics?

Please get your kidney function test (KFT) and microalbuminuria checked before increasing your protein intake. High protein can sometimes put pressure on diabetic kidneys. Always get a clear green light from your physician first.

If your doctor gives the go-ahead, pairing about 1.2g of protein per kg with some daily strength training or brisk walking is amazing. It really helps with muscle retention and insulin sensitivity. I've seen great sugar control in my dad since we started this routine.

I spent hours calculating grams of protein for my mother, and it was so stressful. If you are anxious too, please know that you are not alone. Just talk to a clinical dietician once so you don't have to keep worrying and guessing every single day.

Hamare zamane mein hum log methi dana ka pani aur ghar ki bani dahi khaya karte the sugar ke liye. Protein ke liye halke moong ki dal sabse badiya hai, pet ke liye bhi halki rehti hai. Baki doctor babu ki salah hi sabse badi hai.

Does anyone else also feel scared of eating too much protein because of kidney worries? I read so many conflicting things online and now I'm just confused. My doctor said standard home food is fine, but I still feel very anxious about it.

My uncle has diabetes and honestly, he just has a bowl of dal or some paneer with every meal now instead of a mountain of rice. Seems to work out fine for his levels. Keep it simple and don't overthink the exact numbers!

Look, with a busy job, you can't measure grams daily. Just make sure to include a source of protein like eggs, sprouts, or paneer in every meal so your carbs don't spike your sugar. It's a quick, realistic fix that works well for me.
