How much pomegranate can a diabetic eat?

My mother has diabetes, and we're trying to include more healthy fruits in her diet. Pomegranate is a favorite, but we're unsure about the sugar content. How much pomegranate can a diabetic eat in a day?

You can definitely enjoy pomegranate! Eating about half a cup of the seeds is usually perfectly fine and very healthy. Just make sure to eat the actual seeds instead of drinking the juice. 😊

Bhai, anar toh sehat ke liye bahut accha hota hai. Lekin agar sugar ki bimari hai, toh ek chota katori se jyada mat khaiye ek din mein. Aur dhyan rakhiyega ki juice nahi peena hai, khali khana hai.

Pomegranate is great, but peeling it is a whole workout on its own. If you have diabetes, a small half-cup portion of the seeds is fine. Just don't go drinking the packaged juices, those are loaded with sugar and will mess up your levels.

I manage both high blood pressure and borderline sugar. My doctor allowed me to eat a small cup of pomegranate seeds daily because it is rich in antioxidants. But along with this, make sure you walk regularly and do routine blood checkups.

Do not worry, you don't have to completely stop eating fruits. Having half a cup of fresh pomegranate seeds in the afternoon is quite safe and good for your health.

My family doctor told me that pomegranate has a low glycemic index, which is good, but it still contains natural sugars. She advised restricting the portion to around 50-80 grams (about half a cup) and eating it with some nuts to slow down sugar absorption.

I always get so nervous when eating fruits because my blood sugar spikes so easily. Has anyone else eaten pomegranate and noticed a rise in their fasting levels the next day? I want to try it but I am really hesitant.
