How much pain reliever is too much?

My knee pain has been acting up a lot recently, and sometimes I feel like popping pain relievers constantly. My wife tells me it's not good to take too many. How much pain reliever is actually considered too much?

Honestly, popping pills every time your head aches is not good. I try to limit paracetamol to just when it is absolutely unbearable, maybe once in a few weeks. Better to use balm or take some rest first before rushing to the medicine box.

Taking these heavy English medicines daily can really harm your liver and kidneys over time. For mild body pain, try drinking hot ginger tea or using a warm compress on the area. But if your pain is very severe or constant, please don't self-medicate and go see a doctor immediately.

I used to take pain killers like candy during my periods, but then my pharmacist friend warned me about acidity and stomach issues. Now I strictly limit it to maximum one pill a day and only for the worst 2 days. Try to stay hydrated, it actually helps with the aches.

My family doctor told me that taking over 3000mg of paracetamol or ibuprofen daily can lead to severe stomach ulcers and liver issues. She advised never to take them for more than three days in a row without a proper medical checkup. It is always safer to find the root cause of the pain instead of masking it.

I see this question a lot here and the basic rule is you should never cross the daily dosage mentioned on the pack, usually 3 to 4 tablets of standard paracetamol max in 24 hours. Even then, taking it for more than 3 days continuously is a big warning sign. Always consult a local GP if the pain persists.

I recently visited a specialist at Max Hospital for back pain, and he explicitly told me that taking OTC pain relievers for more than a week can cause rebound headaches and organ stress. You should get a proper prescription. Ask your doctor for the exact safe dosage for your body weight.

Bro, if I took a pill for every ache I got from sleeping only 4 hours a night, my liver would have quit by now. If you are taking them daily just to survive the routine, something is definitely off. Better to fix the sleep schedule or see a doc before your stomach starts burning.
