How much pain can the human body take?

I've been having some really bad back pain after a fall, and it just doesn't seem to get better. Sometimes I feel like I can't take it anymore. It makes me wonder, how much pain can a person actually tolerate?

The human body is highly resilient, but severe physical pain can actually spike your stress hormones and blood sugar levels. If you are experiencing constant pain, don't just tolerate it, as it affects your metabolic health.

Our bodies can endure a surprising amount, but you shouldn't have to test your limits. If you or someone close to you is suffering, please seek medical help instead of trying to be strong alone. I am here if you need to talk.

If you are asking this because you are experiencing severe physical pain right now, please don't ignore it. Pain is a warning sign of your body, so please go to a doctor or hospital immediately.

Scientifically, we can take a lot, but mentally I can't even handle a papercut or a slow internet connection! Don't worry too much about these existential questions, life is too short to stress.

There are many fake stories online about pain scales and limits. Pain tolerance is entirely subjective and depends on genetics and nerves. Don't believe random internet theories, talk to a neurologist if you have nerve issues.

God has made our bodies very strong, and with patience, we can bear a lot. For small aches, a warm turmeric milk or mustard oil massage works wonders, but for heavy pain, one must always trust the doctors.

Honestly, after my sports injury, I realized pain is mostly mental, but there is only so much your nerves can take before you pass out. If you are hurting, just take the painkiller your doc gave and rest.

My doctor friend explained that the brain has a natural shutdown mechanism when pain exceeds safe physiological limits, causing fainting. It is an evolutionary safety switch to protect our nervous system.
