How much metformin for pcos?

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor mentioned metformin. I'm wondering what's the usual dosage for metformin for PCOS?

In our days, we treated hormonal issues with lifestyle, yoga, and eating fenugreek seeds daily. Metformin is a strong medicine, so please do not take it without a senior doctor's prescription.

My gynecologist started me on 500mg of metformin once a day, and then increased it to twice a day. It really helped regulate my periods, but you must pair it with a low-carb diet to avoid stomach upsets.

I spent hours reading about metformin side effects on Reddit and got so scared of lactic acidosis. Honestly, just start with whatever small dose your doctor prescribes and monitor your body closely to stay safe.

Hey there! My doctor gave me 500mg SR (sustained release) which is much gentler on the stomach. Just eat healthy, stay active, and you'll manage your PCOS beautifully! 👍

I completely understand how overwhelming it feels to start a daily pill like metformin for PCOS. I was terrified of the side effects, but my doctor started me on a very low dose which made it much easier to handle.

Hey, don't stress too much about the dosage right now! Every body is different, so what worked for your friend might not suit you. Just talk to a nice gynecologist who will guide you properly.
