How much magnesium to take for sleep?

I've been having trouble falling asleep lately, and someone mentioned magnesium. Can anyone tell me how much magnesium to take for sleep?

Go for 200mg to 300mg of magnesium glycinate about an hour before bed. Make sure you don't buy magnesium oxide because it has terrible absorption and will just upset your stomach. Keep it simple and buy a quality brand.

My sleep tracker app showed a massive improvement in my REM cycles when I started taking 250mg of magnesium glycinate daily. It really helps quiet down the central nervous system after a stressful day of work.

While 200mg of a magnesium supplement is a safe starting point, try adding magnesium-rich foods to your dinner. Eating a handful of pumpkin seeds or some boiled spinach with your meals naturally prepares your body for a restful night.

Don't just jump on the magnesium trend because of social media. Taking too much can mess with your calcium levels and kidneys. Go to a doctor, get your levels checked, and let them prescribe the exact dose you actually need.

Look, starting with a basic 200mg of magnesium glycinate at night is plenty. Don't go taking high doses thinking you will sleep like a baby instantly. Give it a few days, turn off your phone, and let the medicine do its work.
