How much magnesium for sleep?

I've been struggling with my sleep lately, often waking up in the middle of the night. Someone mentioned magnesium could help. How much magnesium should I take for better sleep, and is it safe?

My wearable tracker showed a solid 20-minute increase in deep sleep after I started taking 250mg of elemental magnesium. Make sure you get the glycinate or bisglycinate form, as oxide doesn't absorb well and won't help much with sleep quality.

For sleep, a dose of 200mg to 350mg of elemental magnesium is generally safe and effective for adults. Take it about 30 to 60 minutes before bedtime. Just watch out for loose stools—if that happens, you might need to lower the dose.

I found that taking a mild dose of 200mg of magnesium, combined with 10 minutes of gentle sheetali pranayama, worked beautifully for my insomnia. It calms the nervous system naturally, allowing you to drift off without feeling groggy the next day.

I agree with using magnesium glycinate; 250mg daily is what worked for my nighttime muscle cramps and sleep issues.

Hamare yahan toh log kehte hain ki doodh me thoda badam pis kar peene se magnesium mil jata hai aur neend bhi acchi aati hai. Agar aap alag se dawai le rahe hain, toh daktar babu se poonch kar hi dose lijiye.

I was struggling with horrible sleep for months and finally tried 300mg of magnesium glycinate daily on my doctor's advice. It took about a week, but my sleep has completely turned around now. It really does help calm a racing mind.

Taking 250mg of magnesium glycinate before bed really helps relax the mind. Just make sure to consult a doctor first.

Did you know dark chocolate is loaded with magnesium? But since eating chocolate at midnight might keep you awake, sticking to a 200mg supplement or some pumpkin seeds after dinner is a much better plan for good sleep!
