How much is one kidney donor paid?

A friend of mine was talking about kidney donation and said something about donors getting paid. Is that true? And if so, how much is one kidney donor typically paid? Just curious about this information.

They are paid exactly zero rupees, plus a free ticket to a jail cell! Legally, organ selling is completely banned, so the only reward you get is the good karma of saving a family member's life.

Dude, you don't get paid anything at all. Selling organs is highly illegal under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, so don't believe any weird internet rumors or shady ads you see.

According to the legal framework, organ commercialization is strictly prohibited. When my uncle went through a transplant, the doctor explained that donors only have their medical and hospital expenses covered by the recipient's family, and no direct payment can be exchanged.

Under the law, a donor cannot be paid any money; it must be an altruistic donation. I had major complications after my surgery, so I urge everyone to thoroughly discuss the medical risks of donation with a qualified doctor before making any decisions.

I looked into this when a family friend needed a donor. You get paid zero dollars. It is purely a voluntary donation to save a life, and any exchange of money can land both parties in serious legal trouble.

I am new to learning about how organ transplants work in our country. If someone wants to donate to a stranger out of goodwill, is that allowed legally, or do donors have to be close family members only?
