How much is high fever in adults?
My son has been feeling a bit warm and sluggish today. At what temperature should I consider it a 'high fever' for an adult? I just want to know when to really worry.

For adults, anything above 101 or 102 degrees is when you start feeling really miserable and lose all interest in food. When my fever hits that high, even my favorite garlic bread tastes like cardboard. Keep drinking hot soups and coconut water to stay hydrated.
Please don't ignore it if it crosses 103 degrees. I once sat at home with a 103.5 fever thinking it would just go away, and ended up with a severe kidney infection. If it's high and not coming down, go see a doctor immediately.
If your thermometer reads 103, you are officially baking! Usually, 100-101 is just a mild warm-up, but once you cross 102, your body is seriously fighting something. Keep a damp cloth on your forehead and call your doc if you start seeing illusions, haha.
It is so scary when the thermometer crosses 102 and you start shivering uncontrollably. I totally understand how anxious you must be feeling right now. Just rest, sip some warm water, and let a doctor take a look if it doesn't settle down.

Generally, above 101.5 degrees is considered high for us adults. At home, we immediately start cold compresses on the forehead and armpits to bring the temperature down. Keep checking with a digital thermometer every two hours and consult your family doctor.
