How much does a two month old sleep?

My baby is two months old and I feel like he sleeps a lot, but then sometimes he's wide awake at night. I'm a new mom, so I'm trying to understand what's normal. How much does a two-month-old typically sleep in a day?

Oh, a two-month-old! I'm still learning about baby care. I think they sleep a lot, right? Like, more than half the day? But is it all in one go or in short bursts?

Typically, a 2-month-old needs about 14-17 hours of sleep in a 24-hour cycle. This isn't continuous though; it's broken up into several naps and longer stretches at night. Every baby is different, so don't expect exact timings.

Don't rely just on what people say online for something this important. Every baby is unique. If you're concerned about your baby's sleep patterns, please check with your pediatrician directly. They are the best source of accurate information.

My baby just turned 3 months, so I'm fresh with this! At 2 months, she was sleeping maybe 16 hours total. But it was like, 2-3 hour stretches, then wake up for feed, then back to sleep. Night was slightly longer, like 4-5 hours sometimes. It's a lot of feeding and sleeping in cycles.

A 2-month-old typically sleeps for 14-17 hours in a 24-hour period, but it's rarely continuous. They wake up for feeds every 2-4 hours. My advice is to follow your baby's cues for sleep and feeding, rather than trying to stick to a rigid schedule. Try to get some rest when the baby naps, even if it's just for 20 minutes.

Oh, little ones sleep SO much! 😴 Like 14-17 hours a day, but in small naps and night stretches. Don't worry if it's not one long stretch, that's normal for them. Enjoy those sleepy cuddles! 🥰
