How much do you get for giving a kidney?

My cousin needs a kidney, and I want to help if I can. Someone told me sometimes people get paid for it, is that true? Just wondering how it works.

Hey! So, legally, you don't 'get' money for donating a kidney in India. It's a selfless act. The medical expenses related to your donation, like tests and surgery, are usually covered, but no direct payment. It's a huge decision, so make sure you talk to doctors and family.

You get a lifetime supply of good karma, a halo, and maybe bragging rights at family gatherings for being a literal lifesaver! But seriously, no cash. Organ donation is illegal to sell/buy in India.

It's illegal to sell organs, so you don't get paid for a kidney. If you're considering donation, make sure your own health is absolutely top-notch. For me, with thyroid issues, I have to be very careful with any medical procedures. Get thorough tests done and follow your doctor's advice.

It's an important question, but the answer is no, not financially. In India, selling organs is illegal. If you're considering donation, it's typically for a family member, and the costs of the procedure for the donor are covered. It requires serious thought and medical clearance.

As someone with PCOS, I'm always very careful about any major health decisions. You don't get monetary compensation for donating a kidney in India; it's against the law. Only medical expenses related to the donation are covered. It's a profound choice, so make sure you're fully informed and have good support.

Paid for a kidney? Ha! If only life were that simple, I might consider it for my kids' education fund. But no, beta, it's illegal. You get the satisfaction of saving a life, which is priceless, I guess. My body is barely holding together as it is, one kidney less would be pushing it!

No payment for a kidney, it's strictly against the rules here. But yes, all your hospital bills, tests, and medicines for the donation process are generally taken care of by the recipient or their family. Make sure that's clear from the start.
