Look, simple calculation is that out of your total 7-8 hours of sleep, about 1.5 to 2 hours should be deep sleep. If you are waking up fresh without any body ache, you are doing fine. Stop counting minutes on your smart watch and just sleep on time.

If you want to hit that 1.5 to 2 hours of deep sleep mark, physical fatigue is key. I highly recommend a 30-minute brisk walk or light workout daily, provided your doctor clears you for exercise. It really deepens the sleep cycle.

Don't trust these random fitness apps that show you exact deep sleep percentages, they are not 100% accurate. If you are constantly feeling exhausted despite sleeping 8 hours, go visit a proper doctor or sleep specialist instead of trying internet hacks.

With my PCOS, fatigue is a major issue and my deep sleep was barely 30 minutes earlier. I can't speak for everyone, but managing my hormone levels and sleeping at a fixed time helped me improve it. Do consult your doctor if you're facing chronic fatigue.

Honestly, if I eat a heavy biryani or extra cheese pasta late at night, my deep sleep goes for a toss and I wake up so tired. I have realized that keeping a light dinner gap of 2 hours actually helps me get those solid 1.5 hours of deep rest.

Aiming for around 20% of your total sleep as deep sleep is the sweet spot! I usually get around 1 to 1.5 hours on my fitness band and I feel super charged the next day. Keeping a regular bedtime really does the trick.

A mature person needs at least an hour or two of deep, undisturbed sleep. I always drink a cup of warm milk with a pinch of turmeric and nutmeg before sleeping, it calms the mind. Avoid tea or coffee after 5 PM.

Usually, healthy adults need about 1 to 2 hours of deep sleep per night for tissue repair and energy. If you are getting 7-8 hours of total sleep, your body naturally regulates this. Try to avoid screens before bed to help your brain settle down.
