How much deep sleep are you supposed to get?

My fitness tracker shows my sleep stages, and I've noticed my deep sleep is often quite low. I feel tired even after 7-8 hours of sleep. How much deep sleep am I supposed to get each night for good health?

Deep sleep? Honestly, at my age, even getting 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep feels like a victory! But they say about 1.5 to 2 hours of your night should be deep sleep to feel fully refreshed.

I used to panic looking at my fitness band showing only 1 hour of deep sleep, thinking something was wrong with me. But my doctor told me that 13% to 23% of your total sleep is deep sleep, so around 1 to 1.5 hours is completely normal. Don't stress over the app data.

I noticed my deep sleep tracker goes way down when I have heavy biryani late at night. Ideally, we need about 1.5 hours of deep sleep, and eating a light dinner at least two hours before bed really helps you get there.

To recover from heavy lifting, you need about 1.5 to 2 hours of deep sleep daily. Your body releases growth hormone during this phase to repair muscles. Try finishing your workouts at least 3 hours before bed so your heart rate settles down.

I read that adults should aim for about 1 to 2 hours of deep sleep per night. I started keeping my phone in another room before sleeping, and it genuinely helped improve my sleep quality. Small changes make a big difference.

Bro, don't stress too much about tracking every single minute of deep sleep. Usually, 1 to 1.5 hours is fine, but if you wake up feeling energetic, you are good. Just sleep peacefully and don't let these trackers give you anxiety!
