How much can you sue for pain and suffering?

A relative of mine was in a car accident and is now trying to claim for pain and suffering. I'm curious, how much can someone actually sue for this type of thing in India? Is it a standard amount or does it vary a lot?

Don't let the legal worry get to your head right now. In India, there is no fixed cap on suing for pain and suffering, as the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal decides it based on age and income loss. Let me know if you need help finding a good lawyer.

While you deal with the stress of lawsuits, make sure you eat simple, home-cooked vegetarian food to keep your gut health stable. Stress can really mess up your digestion. The legal compensation will depend purely on your actual medical files and bills.

I keep worrying about what would happen if I got into an accident and had to sue. It seems so complicated and stressful! From what I know, the amount is calculated based on medical records, so please keep every single doctor's note very carefully.

Lawsuit matters take so much time in our country, haan na. The compensation really depends on the severity of the injury and court rules. Better to discuss with a proper advocate who handles such accident cases daily.

I once ignored a minor back pain after an injury and didn't document it, which meant I couldn't claim any compensation later and had to pay for surgery myself. Please get a thorough medical checkup done immediately and keep all official reports ready for the lawsuit.
