How mich do newborns sleep?

My sister just had a baby and she's constantly worried about his sleep schedule. She keeps asking me if he's sleeping enough. How much do newborns typically sleep in a day?

I totally get it, the sleep deprivation in those first few weeks is incredibly tough and makes you question everything. Newborns usually sleep around 16 to 18 hours a day, but it is broken up into tiny, unpredictable chunks. Hang in there, you are doing a wonderful job.

Hey, congratulations on the baby! Honestly, don't stress too much about the exact hours because newborns literally have no schedule and sleep whenever they want. Just try to catch some sleep yourself when the baby is napping, and let your pediatrician know if they are sleeping too little or seem lethargic.

On average, a newborn baby sleeps about 14 to 17 hours in a 24-hour cycle. They wake up every 2 to 3 hours because their tiny stomachs need frequent feeding. If your baby is sleeping for more than 4 hours at a stretch without waking up to feed, please check with your pediatrician.

When my baby was born, I was so confused because she was sleeping constantly and barely waking up to feed, which turned out to be due to high jaundice levels. If your newborn is excessively sleepy, difficult to wake up, or not feeding well, please do not ignore it. It is always safest to consult your doctor immediately.

Yaar, actually newborns sleep for almost 16-17 hours, but the catch is that they wake up every two hours for milk. It totally messes up your own sleep cycle. If you feel the baby's sleep pattern is very unusual, just have a quick chat with your doc.

I remember counting every single minute of my baby's sleep because I was so anxious that something was wrong with their patterns. Most newborns sleep around 16 hours, but it feels like much less because it is so fragmented. If you are feeling overwhelmed by worry, talking to your doctor will really help put your mind at ease.

Chote bacche toh din mein solah-sattrah ghante sote hain, unka sharir sote samay hi badhta hai. Bas dhyan rakhiye ki har do ghante mein unhe doodh pilayein. Agar baccha bilkul nahi so raha hai ya bahut kamzor lag raha hai, toh turant doctor babu ko dikhayein.

Newborns sleep a lot, nearly 15 to 18 hours daily, as they are adjusting to this world. Keeping the room dim, quiet, and massaging their feet gently can help them sleep peacefully. However, if the baby is crying constantly instead of sleeping or has a fever, take them to the doctor immediately.

My cousin just had a baby and honestly, that kid sleeps like 16 hours a day but always chooses the weirdest times to wake up and cry. It seems super tiring for the parents. I guess they just sleep whenever their stomach is full!

With my three kids, I learned that newborns sleep about 16 hours, but their days and nights are completely swapped at first. Try to keep the room bright during daytime naps and pitch black with white noise at night to help them adjust. If they are consistently sleeping less than 11-12 hours, consult your pediatrician.
