How many types of kidney stones are there?

My father has had kidney stones multiple times, and they always look a bit different. I was curious to know, how many different types of kidney stones are there, actually?

I literally just got treated for a 6mm calcium oxalate stone last week. The doctor told me there are four main types, calcium being the most common. Drink oceans of water, guys, that pain is something I would never wish on my worst enemy.

I panicked so much when my doctor mentioned 'kidney stones', thinking of surgery immediately. But he explained there are four types, and mine was just a small uric acid one that passed easily with medicine and water. It is very common, so please don't lose sleep over it.

From what I have read, there are four primary types of kidney stones. Since hormonal and dietary factors can play a role, it is best to get a proper medical scan rather than guessing. Stay hydrated and speak with a doctor.

Hey, don't worry too much. There are four main types of kidney stones, and most of them can be managed or dissolved with proper medication and plenty of fluids. Let's just get an ultrasound done to see what the doctor says, okay?

There are four types, mainly calcium, uric acid, struvite, and cystine. Because metabolic imbalances can contribute to stones, getting a full metabolic panel and urine test is highly recommended. Please follow up with a urologist.

There are four main types of stones. Just like managing my blood pressure, keeping your kidneys healthy requires a low-sodium diet and regular urine tests. Don't ignore any dull lower back pain.

Actually, my roommate had this last semester and the doctor said there are like four types of stones. Calcium ones are the most common from what he told us. Just keep chugging water throughout the day, guys!

It was so emotionally draining dealing with the constant fear of pain from my kidney stones. Knowing there are four types helped me work with my doctor to target the exact cause. It is tough, but you will get through this.
