Malaria is a serious threat, especially in tropical regions. While fitness contributes to general immunity, preventing mosquito bites is the primary defense here. Keeping your surroundings clean and avoiding stagnant water also supports a healthier environment for everyone.

I had a bad bout of malaria once, and it led to some complications. It can be very serious if not treated properly and quickly. The numbers of deaths are very high historically. Always, always see a doctor immediately if you have fever and suspect malaria. Don't self-medicate.
