How many pain killers are too much?

I've been having some chronic pain lately and sometimes take over-the-counter painkillers. I'm worried about taking too much. What number of pain killers would be considered 'too much' in a day or week? Just need to be careful.

This isn't like asking 'how many gulab jamuns are too much?' where the answer is 'never enough'! Painkillers are serious business. Always stick to the dosage mentioned on the pack or what your doctor says. Never take more. It's better to be safe than sorry, unlike my indulgence in desserts!

Ho na, this is very important. Always, always stick to what's written on the medicine strip or what the doctor tells you. Don't take extra just because the pain is much. My ajji (grandmother) always said, 'Dawaai ka hisaab pakka hona chahiye.' If pain is not going, then go to the doctor again, don't increase the dose yourself.

Please, please, be very careful with this. I once took a bit more than prescribed for a severe headache, thinking it would work faster, and ended up with stomach issues for days. Overdosing on painkillers can lead to serious liver or kidney damage, even internal bleeding. Always, always stick to the recommended dosage on the packet, and if the pain is unbearable, see a doctor instead of taking more medicine.

I used to panic even taking one pill, thinking it was too much! But for painkillers, the 'too much' point is clearly written on the packaging or given by your doctor. Never exceed that, like if it says 1-2 pills every 4-6 hours, stick to it. If pain persists, it means you need to see a doctor, not take more pills. Don't worry, just follow instructions.

This is a serious question. For simple pains, one or two pills as per the packet is fine, but for anything more, you must consult a doctor. Don't try to self-medicate or increase the dose just because the pain isn't going away. It's not a good practical solution, can cause more problems and hospital bills.
