How many men struggle with mental health?

I've been feeling a bit stressed lately with work and all, and I know many men don't talk about their feelings much. It made me think about how many men actually struggle with their mental health.

I can only share from my own circle, but it feels like a lot. Many of my friends, especially post-COVID, have opened up about anxiety or feeling down. It's usually stress from work or family pressure, but they rarely seek professional help unless it gets very bad.

In our culture, men are often taught to be strong and not show their feelings, no? This makes it very hard for them to talk about mental health. My mother always said 'keep a cool head', but sometimes a doctor's help is truly needed when the mind is troubled.

Bhaiyya, in our town also, many young boys and men look worried these days. But they don't say much. It's important to listen to them and tell them it's okay to feel sad or stressed. Just talk to someone, a friend or family.

Yaar, actually, so many. I see it all around me, even among my guy friends. They put on a brave face, but under all the bravado, there's a lot of stress and sometimes depression. It's high time we normalize therapy for men too.

Honestly, a lot. My guy friends constantly complain about stress from work or family expectations. It's tough for them to show vulnerability. Don't stress too much if you feel this way, just know you're not alone and it's okay to ask for help.

It's a significant number, and sadly, many men suffer in silence. Creating safe spaces for them to open up and seek support is crucial.
