How many grapes can a diabetic eat per day?

My elder brother is diabetic and recently he's been craving grapes. We usually tell him to avoid them, but I was wondering if a small portion is okay. How many grapes can a diabetic eat in a day without it affecting their sugar levels too much?

It is much safer to eat fruits like apple or pear instead of grapes because grapes can spike your sugar immediately. If you really want them, limit it to just 4 or 5 single grapes a day. But if you feel sudden fatigue or blurry vision, please consult your doctor immediately.

Instead of buying expensive fruits like imported grapes that only raise your blood sugar, stick to local, seasonal fruits like guava which are cheaper and much safer. You can check your sugar levels with a home glucometer before and after eating a couple of grapes to see if it fits your budget and health.

I ate a small handful of grapes last week and my sugar levels spiked so badly, which really scared me. Do others also face a sudden spike even with just a few grapes? I have completely stopped eating them now out of fear.

With my PCOS, I also have to manage insulin resistance, so I am very careful with sweet fruits like grapes. I try to limit myself to just 3 or 4 grapes and always pair them with a handful of almonds. It is always better to go slow and see how your own body responds.

Grapes are so addictive, once you start it is so hard to stop at just two! But since they are sugar bombs for diabetics, my doctor told me to limit it to maximum 5-6 pieces. I usually mix them into a big bowl of cucumber salad to trick my mind.

Honestly, if you are diabetic, you should avoid grapes entirely because they have a high glycemic load. Stick to half an apple or some papaya instead. If you must have them, do not go beyond 5 grapes, and definitely track your blood glucose after.

My teenager was diagnosed with high blood sugar recently, and managing their sweet cravings is so tough. The doctor said we can give them 4-5 grapes once in a while, but only along with some nuts to slow down the sugar absorption. It really helps keep the levels stable.
