How many eggs can a diabetic eat?

My mother is diabetic and loves eggs, but we've always been careful about her cholesterol. Her doctor said she can have some, but we're unsure of the exact quantity. How many eggs can a diabetic safely eat?

Managing diabetes means constantly counting everything. I usually have one egg a day, mostly boiled, which doesn't disturb my sugar levels much. Anymore than that and my doctor gives me a long lecture!

Usually, 1 egg per day is fine for diabetics. Just make sure to consult your doctor to be safe.

I go to Max Hospital for my quarterly checkups, and my diabetologist told me that 3 to 4 eggs a week is safe for my specific profile. It depends entirely on your overall heart health, so ask your doctor clearly.

Most diabetics can safely eat one egg daily. It is a good source of protein, but do monitor your lipid profile regularly.

Generally, 1 whole egg a day is quite safe for diabetics since it doesn't have carbs to spike sugar. If you are worried about cholesterol, you can switch to egg whites instead.

My son has high sugar levels, and his dietitian allowed him one whole egg or two egg whites daily. We cook it with very little oil and lots of vegetables like spinach to make it healthier.
