How many del units of pain is giving birth?

I'm expecting my first child soon, and everyone keeps telling me how painful delivery is. My mother-in-law is scaring me with her stories! I want to mentally prepare, so how much pain is involved when giving birth?

The whole 'del' scale is actually a myth and not used by doctors at all. But childbirth pain is very real and can change quickly if there are issues. I had a prolonged labor that turned into an emergency, so always trust your doctor's advice over online scales.

I completely understand why you are asking this, I also spent hours googling labor pain out of pure panic. Honestly, those internet scales are totally fake and just make us more anxious. Try to breathe and talk to your gynac about pain relief options, it really helps calm the mind.

Haha, I don't know about del units, but it felt like a truck hit me and then reversed over me again! Honestly, the pain is heavy but you forget it all the second they hand you the baby. Now the real struggle is just getting two hours of continuous sleep!

I can't tell you the scientific numbers, but seeing my partner go through it made me realize how intense it is. It was a long journey and we just relied on what our doctor advised us at the hospital. Every single person has a unique experience with labor.

Don't focus on those fake numbers on the internet. Focus on preparing your body instead. Regular pelvic floor exercises and light walking during pregnancy, if your doctor clears it, can make a huge difference in managing the physical strain of labor.

Listen, don't let these random internet facts scare you. There is no such thing as 'del units' in real medicine, it is just social media gossip. Millions of women go through this every day with the right medical support, and you will do great too. Just stay positive.
