How many days with a fever is too long?

My son has had a fever for what feels like a long time, maybe three days. It's not super high, but it's not going away. How many days with a fever is generally considered too long before needing medical attention?

I have had a mild temperature for almost four days now and I'm starting to get worried. Is four days considered too long for a normal seasonal fever, or should I wait one more day before calling a doctor?

More than 3 days of continuous fever is definitely too long. By day 4, you need to get blood tests done for dengue, malaria, or typhoid under a doctor's supervision. Don't sit at home self-medicating beyond this point.

Anything beyond 3 days of fever is too long. Your body is burning a lot of energy fighting it, and you'll lose a lot of muscle strength and hydration if it drags on. Get it checked by a doc so you can recover and get back to your routine safely.

Hey, don't stress too much, but if the fever has been running for more than 3 days, that is usually the signal to see a doctor. It is better to get a quick checkup done now rather than letting it stretch and making you feel weaker.

According to clinical guidelines, a fever lasting more than 3 days in adults is considered prolonged. My physician explained that while viral infections can sometimes linger, a fever stretching to day 4 or 5 warrants diagnostic tests to rule out bacterial secondary infections.

Practically speaking, if a fever lasts more than 3 to 4 days without any sign of going down, it is considered too long. It usually means the body needs more than just rest to fight the infection. Please consult a doctor for a proper evaluation.

Please don't wait too long. I once ignored a low-grade fever that lasted for 5 days, thinking it would go away, and ended up with a severe kidney infection that took weeks to heal. If it crosses 3 days, please go get it checked immediately.

With underlying health issues like PCOS, our bodies are already dealing with inflammation, so more than 3 days of fever is definitely too long to ignore. Please consult your healthcare provider to ensure there are no underlying infections that need attention.

I think anything after 3 days is too long to handle on your own. When I had a fever that touched day 4, I became so weak that I couldn't even stand up properly. It's much better to see a doctor early and get the right medicine.

If a fever goes past 3 days, it's too long. It's actually cheaper to see a general physician early for a 200 rupee consultation than to wait, get extremely sick, and end up paying thousands for emergency hospital visits and advanced blood panels.

Listen, 3 days of fever is the maximum you should tolerate. If you are entering the fourth day with a high temperature, it is too long and you are risking your health. Go to a clinic, get tested, and treat it properly.

I totally get it, dealing with a fever for multiple days is so exhausting and worrisome. Usually, if it crosses 3 days, it is too long to wait at home. Please take care of yourself and let a doctor check you to bring some relief.
