How many days of a fever before going to doctor?

My son has had a fever since yesterday evening, and I've been giving him paracetamol. He's still quite warm today. At what point should I stop just managing it at home and actually take him to see a doctor?

At my age, if a fever stays for more than 2 days, I don't take any chances. My body doesn't bounce back like it used to, so off to the doctor I go by day 3!

I have had a mild fever for two days now and I'm a bit nervous. Should I wait for one more day, or is it better to go to the clinic this evening itself?

My mother always tells me to try herbal tea for a day, but if the fever persists past 3 days, we always consult our family doctor. It is better to get a proper diagnosis rather than guessing.

Don't sit on a fever for more than 3 days. With dengue and malaria quite common in cities, it's smarter to get a doctor's opinion and a basic blood test done by the third day.

Usually, a standard viral fever starts coming down in 3 days. But if your temperature is very high or doesn't budge even after taking paracetamol, please book a doctor's appointment right away.

Keep an eye on it! 🌡️ If it's still there on day 3, it's definitely time to visit your doctor. Stay hydrated and rest up!

Having managed my family's health for years, I always recommend waiting 48 to 72 hours for a simple viral fever. However, if there is severe shivering, coughing, or vomiting, do not wait at all and see a doctor immediately.

Practically speaking, if the fever lasts more than 3 days, it starts affecting your work and productivity anyway. Schedule a consultation on day 3 to get it sorted quickly.
