How many days can someone go without sleep?

My friend was telling me about how she stayed up for two full days during exams. It made me curious, how many days can someone actually go without any sleep at all?

I totally get it, sleep issues are so exhausting and can drive you crazy. Honestly, after just 2 or 3 days of barely sleeping, your brain completely stops functioning properly. Please don't test your limits with this, it is really bad for your mental health.

Bro during exam week I went almost 48 hours without sleeping and by the end I was literally seeing things. After 3 days your body just shuts down involuntarily anyway. Do not try this, it's not worth the crash.

Realistically, after 36 to 48 hours your productivity drops to zero and you start making dangerous mistakes at work. If you are struggling with severe insomnia, it is better to take a sick day and consult a specialist rather than pushing through.

Exactly what others said, anything beyond 2 days is actually dangerous for your heart. Try to take some warm milk or listen to light music tonight to help you drift off.

Going without sleep will eventually lead to major health issues and expensive hospital bills. If you are having chronic insomnia, search for a decent government hospital or pocket-friendly clinic nearby for a basic checkup before it gets worse. Getting a basic thyroid or vitamin test done first is also a good, cost-effective starting point.

Please be very careful with this. I ignored my severe sleep deprivation last year and ended up collapsing with high blood pressure and sudden dizziness. If you are going more than 2 days without proper rest, you must go to a doctor immediately.
