How many days can a human go without sleep?

I have an important project deadline coming up and I've been pulling all-nighters. I was just wondering, out of curiosity, how many days can a human generally go without sleep before it becomes really dangerous?

While science says a person might survive a few days, going even 24 hours without sleep severely disrupts your prana energy. I highly recommend practicing Shavasana or Yoga Nidra for 20 minutes to help soothe your nervous system if you are struggling to sleep.

Don't try to test limits here. After 2 or 3 days of no sleep, your brain starts hallucinating and your reflexes drop to zero. If you are struggling with severe insomnia, keep your room pitch black and avoid looking at your phone after 9 PM.

Technically, extreme limits are around 11 days, but severe mental and physical breakdown begins within 48 to 72 hours. If you or someone you know is unable to sleep for more than 2 days, please consult a medical professional immediately as it can be highly dangerous.

Going without sleep is terrible for your endocrine system. My thyroid levels went completely out of whack when I had severe sleepless nights. If you can't sleep, get your thyroid panel and blood tests checked, and follow up with a doctor.

Even one night of no sleep can cause massive insulin resistance the next day, pushing your blood sugar levels up. Do not try to push past 24 hours. Eat a light dinner, avoid late-night tea or coffee, and try to rest.

It is very painful when sleep doesn't come. People say humans can survive a few days, but it ruins your health. Try drinking a warm cup of milk with a pinch of nutmeg before bed, and rub some warm sesame oil on your soles.

I once stayed awake for 40 hours straight during a college hackathon. Honestly, my brain felt like mush and I felt physically sick. Don't try to go beyond a day, it's absolutely not worth the crash.
