How many dates can a diabetic eat in a day?

My doctor said I need to watch my sugar intake very carefully because I'm diabetic. I really like dates, but I'm not sure if they are good for me. How many dates can a diabetic eat in a day without it being harmful? Need to be careful.

Usually, 1 or maximum 2 small dates a day is fine because they have a low-to-moderate glycemic index. I track my father's blood sugar on a smart app, and having one date with a few almonds doesn't cause a major spike for him.

My husband goes to Max Hospital for his diabetes treatment. His endocrinologist advised that even though dates have good fiber, diabetics should limit it to 1 date per day, that too only if their overall HbA1c is well under control.

Stick to just 1 date daily. It's high in fructose, so eating more will definitely spike your morning fasting numbers. Pair it with walnuts to slow down the sugar release.

While dates contain essential nutrients and fiber, they are still highly concentrated sources of sugar. Consuming 1 or 2 dates occasionally is generally acceptable, but consulting your physician or clinical dietician is best to tailor it to your HbA1c levels.

In our old days, we used to say natural sweets like dates are harmless, but for diabetic patients, caution is necessary. Eating 1 small date with morning tea is okay, but don't make it a daily habit without asking your doctor.

If you ask a diabetic, they'll want to eat the whole box! But realistically, stick to just 1 date. Think of it as a premium single-dose dessert to keep your doctor from giving you a heavy lecture!

I was reading up on this because my granddad has diabetes and loves sweets. It seems most health articles suggest a limit of 1-2 dates, but only when eaten alongside healthy fats like nuts to prevent sudden glucose spikes.
