How many corn tortillas can a diabetic eat?

My husband has diabetes, and he loves eating corn tortillas. We usually have them with our evening snacks. I want to know how many he can safely eat in a day without affecting his sugar levels. Are they very high in carbs?

I manage thyroid and my husband has diabetes, so we are very careful about carbs. Generally, 1 or 2 small corn tortillas are okay if you pair them with lots of protein and salad. Make sure to get your HbA1c checked regularly to see how your body reacts.

My dad has diabetes and loves experimenting with different breads. We found that 1 small corn tortilla is fine, but we always load it up with paneer and veggies to slow down the sugar absorption. It's all about portion control!

Why go for fancy foreign tortillas when we have local makki ki roti? Just 1 small makki roti or corn tortilla with a lot of green vegetables is more than enough for a diabetic. It is cheap, healthy, and easy to manage daily.

I recently brought my sugar levels back to normal. I used to eat 2 corn tortillas for dinner, but I noticed they still spiked my sugar slightly. I switched to checking my post-meal readings and now I stick to just one small tortilla along with a big bowl of dal.

Honestly, I am too tired to even cook, but from what my diabetic uncle does, 1 or 2 is the maximum limit. If you eat more, your glucometer will probably scream at you the next morning. Keep it simple and don't overeat.

I used to ignore my diet and eat whatever I wanted, which led to severe diabetic complications later. Please don't guess how many tortillas you can eat. Go to your doctor, get your current sugar levels checked, and get a proper diet chart made.
