How many cod liver capsules per day?

I just bought a bottle of cod liver oil capsules but the dosage isn't very clear for my age. How many cod liver capsules should an adult typically take per day?

I take one capsule daily because my doctor recommended it for my PCOS inflammation. But please don't start taking them blindly because high doses of Vitamin A in cod liver can sometimes be harmful. Better to ask your doctor first.

My grandmother always used to tell us to take cod liver oil during winter, but I prefer to trust my doctor's prescription. Currently, I take one capsule daily with my main meal as advised. It's always safer that way.

Why ask online about capsule dosages? Everyone's body and deficiency levels are completely different. Don't trust random numbers on the internet; go get a basic blood test and ask your family doctor for the exact dosage you need.

I have type 2 diabetes and my nutritionist told me that one 1000mg capsule per day is sufficient for omega-3 needs. You have to be careful not to take too many supplements without knowing how they interact with your daily medications.

Please be very careful with this. I took two capsules a day on my own and ended up with severe stomach burning and nosebleeds because it thinned my blood too much. Definitely see a proper doctor before starting any oil supplements.

I was taking cod liver capsules for severe joint stiffness recently. My doctor started me on 1 capsule per day after lunch, and honestly, my joints feel much better now. But yeah, do not self-medicate, get a doctor's go-ahead.
