How many cavities can be filled at once?

I have a few cavities that need filling. My dentist suggested doing them in multiple sittings, but I'm wondering how many can typically be filled in one go? I really want to get it over with quickly.

You can actually get multiple cavities filled in a single visit, often three to four if they are in the same area. It really just depends on your comfort level and what your dentist recommends.

I think I fell asleep in the dentist's chair while they were filling two of mine last week because I was running on just three hours of sleep. You can get multiple done at once, but honestly, keeping your mouth open for that long is the real workout. Better to get them all done together so you don't have to go back and face that drill again.

My dentist filled three of my cavities in one go last year, and it was perfectly fine, though my jaw got a bit tired. After getting multiple fillings, just make sure to avoid very hot or cold foods, and stick to soft, gentle vegetarian options like simple khichdi or curd rice for a day so your mouth can heal comfortably.

You can get three or four filled at once if they are in the same quadrant, which actually saves you money on repeated consultation fees and numbing injections. I always ask the dentist for a full breakdown of the filling costs beforehand so I can plan my monthly budget and decide how many to do now and how many to schedule for next month.

When my son had to get fillings, my mother suggested we do them one by one over several weeks so he wouldn't be in pain. However, we trusted our family dentist's advice, and he calmly filled three at once since they were right next to each other. It went very smoothly, so I would suggest just going with whatever your dentist finds best for your case.
