My husband has type 2 diabetes and we are trying to be very careful with his diet. What is the recommended daily carbohydrate intake for someone with type 2 diabetes?

Dealing with Type 2 along with thyroid means my metabolism is always slow. I keep my carbs around 100g but the exact number must be decided by your doc based on your lab reports. Do keep getting regular blood tests to see if your diet plan is actually working.

Generally speaking, most Type 2 patients do well keeping their daily carb intake between 130 to 150 grams. But remember, this is spread throughout the day, not in one massive meal. Also, make sure to take your prescribed medicine on time alongside this diet.

Instead of just cutting carbs to extremely low levels, try to combine moderate carbs with exercise. Even a brisk 20-minute walk after lunch and dinner helps your muscles use up those carbs as energy. Just confirm with your doctor before starting any heavy workout routine.

I recently managed to bring my HbA1c down from 8.2 to 5.9 by tracking my food. I didn't stop eating carbs, I just limited them to about 40 grams per meal and focused heavily on protein. It felt hard in the beginning but it works wonders.

Haan, carbs ka tension toh rehta hai sabko. Par bilkul roti chhodna zaroori nahi hai na. Just limit it to 2 small chapatis per meal and load up on seasonal vegetables and dahi. Simple rkho, stress mat lo bilkul.
