How many carbohydrates for a diabetic?

My doctor told me to watch my carb intake because I'm pre-diabetic. I'm trying to understand, generally speaking, what is a recommended amount of carbohydrates for a diabetic person? It's all very new to me.

Honestly, I wish I knew! My dad is diabetic and he just tries to cut down generally. But sometimes I see him sneaking a gulab jamun, toh I guess it's more about balance, no? Consult a doc, yaar, they'll tell you properly. I'm too tired to count carbs for myself, let alone for someone else, lol.

Beta, every person is different, so what works for one might not work for another. My husband has had diabetes for many years. Initially, we were very strict, but now we understand it's about moderation. Your doctor or a dietician will give you the best advice based on your sugar levels and lifestyle. Don't worry too much, you'll figure it out.

Generally, for diabetics, reducing refined carbs is key. Think less maida, less sugar. More whole grains, daals, sabzis. But exactly *how much* carbohydrate you need depends on your body. For something like diabetes, please consult a good doctor or a dietician. Self-diagnosing or self-treating with just home remedies can be risky for this.

This is a common question in our household too, with my uncle having diabetes. My mother always says to avoid white rice and anything very sweet. But truthfully, the best thing is to see a proper doctor or a nutritionist. They can give you a personalized diet plan based on your specific needs, it's safer that way.

Oh, this is such a common confusion point! My aunt has diabetes, and her doctor told her it's not just about 'how much' but 'what kind' of carbs too. Complex carbs are better. But honestly, the best way is to go to a dietician who specializes in diabetes. They calculate everything based on your age, weight, and activity level. Super practical, no?

Haan na, this is a tricky one. My neighbour has diabetes, and her doctor gave her a whole list of what to eat and how much. It's not a fixed number for everyone, you know? Your doctor will tell you after seeing your blood sugar levels and other health conditions. Best to follow their advice properly, ho na?
