How many calories do you burn in your sleep?

My fitness tracker shows I burn some calories even when I'm sleeping, which sounds good. Just curious, on average, how many calories does one burn during sleep? Does it depend on how deep the sleep is?

You burn roughly 40 to 50 calories per hour while sleeping. Just focus on getting peaceful rest, your body knows exactly how to take care of the rest.

It's about 0.9 calories per kg of body weight per hour. For an average adult, that is roughly 400 calories a night. Keep your muscle mass up with lifting weights, and you'll burn even more while resting.

You burn about 50 calories an hour, assuming you are actually sleeping and not staring at the ceiling scrolling reels at 3 AM like me. If only worrying burned calories, I'd be super fit by now!

The body burns around 350-400 calories in deep sleep. Practicing light pranayama or Shavasana before sleeping helps you get deeper rest, which allows the metabolic processes to function perfectly.

I used to obsess over calorie burn and restricted my food heavily, which led to severe nutritional deficiencies and heart palpitations. If you are experiencing unexplained weight changes, please consult a medical specialist instead of counting sleep calories.

I totally get it, sometimes we worry about every little detail when trying to manage our health. You burn about 40-50 calories per hour while sleeping, so don't stress, your body is doing its job even when you rest.

Beta, the body burns a small amount of calories, maybe 300 to 400 during the night. Drink a cup of warm turmeric milk before bed to help you sleep better naturally, rather than worrying about calorie numbers.

I remember crying over my daily calorie tracking sheets, trying to count even my sleep burn just to feel okay. It's roughly 50 calories an hour, but please remember your worth is not defined by these numbers. Be gentle with yourself.
