How many bananas can a diabetic eat a day?

My doctor recently diagnosed me with diabetes, and I'm trying to figure out my diet. I love bananas, but I'm not sure if they are good for me now. How many bananas can a diabetic safely eat in a day?

I have lived with diabetes for 25 years. You don't need to completely stop eating bananas, just half a small banana or one small Elaichi banana a day is perfectly fine. It's all about moderation and staying active, don't worry.

My son loves bananas, but since we have to manage his sugars carefully, we limit it to half a small, slightly green banana a day. The riper the banana, the higher the sugar content, so pick the firm ones. It's a practical way to let them enjoy the fruit.

Look, simple baat hai. Bananas have a high glycemic index, so eating a big ripe one daily will spike your sugar. Keep it to half a banana, and eat it with some nuts like almonds to balance it out. Simple, right?

From my experience of managing diabetes, I find that eating a whole large banana is a bad idea. I limit myself to half a small banana, and I never eat it on an empty stomach. Always check your post-meal sugars to see what works for your body.

I was told diabetics should completely avoid bananas, so I am a bit confused now. Is half a banana really safe to eat every day, or does it depend on our current HbA1c levels? I would love to know how others manage this.

As a general guideline, stick to one small banana or half of a large one per day. Bananas have great potassium, but they do have fast carbs. Pair it with a source of protein or healthy fat to keep your glucose curve flat.
