How many americans have gum disease?

My dentist always stresses on good oral hygiene, warning about gum disease. I was curious how common it actually is in the western world. How many Americans have gum disease?

Gum issues can happen to anyone, even across the world in America where they say almost half the adults have some form of it. Just stay positive, keep a clean routine morning and night, and take care of your health daily. Small steady habits keep the body and mind in absolute peace.

From what I've read in health bulletins, nearly half of the adult US population has some level of periodontitis. It is mostly due to lifestyle, smoking, or just genetics. Best practical step is regular flossing and dental cleanings twice a year, don't skip those.

I totally get it, dental issues are so stressful and expensive to deal with. Statistically, it's very common there, nearly 47% of people over 30 have some gum trouble. You are not alone in worrying about this, just take a deep breath.

With my thyroid issues, I realized everything in the body is connected, even gum swelling. If you are worried about gum disease, please get regular dental checkups and maybe some basic blood tests. Sometimes underlying issues like diabetes or thyroid issues can show up first in your mouth.

I know how terrifying it is to google these stats and spiral into dental anxiety. Yes, the numbers in America are quite high, around 46%, but worrying won't fix it. Just book an appointment with a local dentist, they will clean it up and you will feel so much better instantly.

I can only speak from my own experience living in the US for a few years. My dentist there told me that a massive portion of his patients had early-stage gum disease without even knowing it. I started using an electric toothbrush and that really changed things for my personal oral health.

Honestly, reading about how common it is actually helped me feel less ashamed of my own bleeding gums. It's a huge number in the US, almost 1 in 2 adults. I used to cry thinking I ruined my teeth, but it is just a very common human issue that can be managed.
