How long will face droop after stroke?
My father had a stroke recently, and one side of his face is drooping. The doctors said it might improve. How long after a stroke can we expect to see improvement, or for the face droop to reduce?

Recovery depends entirely on the severity of the stroke. Some people see improvement in 3 to 6 months with consistent facial physiotherapy, while for others it might take longer or remain partial. Stick strictly to the rehab schedule without skipping.
My facial droop started improving after about 4 months of daily facial exercises and therapy. I used to practice smiling and blowing air in front of the mirror every day. It takes a lot of patience, but don't lose hope, recovery happens slowly.
When my teenager had a similar neurological issue, it was heart-breaking to watch. With regular doctor visits and simple facial massages, we saw a lot of progress within 3 months. Stay strong and keep encouraging them every single day.
Don't stress yourself out looking in the mirror every hour. These nerves take a lot of time to heal, usually a few months. Just focus on your regular therapy sessions and let your body heal at its own pace. We are all here for you.
I get so worried reading about nerve damage online, it makes me so anxious. From what I have read, many people get their smile back in a few months, but everyone's body is so different. Please make sure to discuss your worries openly with your doctor.

The timeline is very subjective and only your neurologist can give you a realistic idea after seeing the brain scans. When my uncle had this, we got a clear recovery plan from a top hospital. Please ask your treating doctor directly about the prognosis.
