How long until fever breaks?

My daughter has had a fever since last night, and we've given her medicine. We are constantly checking her temperature. How long does it usually take for a fever to break after medication or naturally?

In my sixty years, I have seen many flu seasons. A normal viral fever usually takes about 3 to 5 days to break completely. Just keep giving sponge baths with normal water, keep the body hydrated, and don't worry too much.

Typically, a standard viral fever breaks within 72 hours. If you are taking paracetamol, it will bring the temperature down temporarily but the actual infection needs those 3 days to clear out. If it goes past day 4, don't wait, get a blood test done.

Most simple fevers break within 3 days with proper rest and fluids. Please take care and get plenty of rest today.

It is so exhausting and emotionally draining when you or a loved one has a stubborn fever that just won't go down. I remember crying out of worry when my child had a high fever last year. Please stay strong, it usually passes in 3 days, but your anxiety is completely natural.

I find that when my body is already dealing with PCOS inflammation, even a minor fever takes a solid 4 days to completely break. Please be gentle with yourself and don't rush back to work. Rest is the most important thing right now.

I know how terrifying it is to keep checking the thermometer every half hour and seeing no change, it makes your heart sink. Fevers usually take 3 days to break, but if the anxiety is getting to you, just call your doctor to reassure yourself.

A standard fever usually breaks in 3 days. Try drinking warm water with tulsi and ginger to help the body fight the infection. But remember, if the temperature goes above 103 or doesn't come down with medicine, you must see a doctor immediately.
